Mission Statement of TLAC’s Arabic School
The TLAC Arabic school’s mission is to help learners acquire the Arabic language within a creative and fun environment conducive to learning. Our quality programs provide learners with the needed skills to communicate freely using the Lebanese dialect, strengthen their basic reading and writing skills and connect to their Lebanese culture to become active participants within their Lebanese community.

We are currently offering the following levels for our Adult Online Program:

Novice 1 (2 semesters)

Learners at this level will be exposed to both the standard Arabic and Lebanese dialect, with no or little previous knowledge of the language.
By the end of this level, learners will be able to communicate and write about familiar and everyday topics using a variety of practiced or memorized words, phrases, simple sentences and questions. They will also be able to listen and read highly predictable texts in which the topic or context is very familiar. During our Arabic lessons, learners will be introduced to Lebanese culture to become active participants within its community.

Book used for this class, to be purchased separately by our learners: Alif Baa: Introduction to Arabic Letters and Sounds (3rd Edition)

Novice 2 (2 semesters)

Learners at this level have already had some exposure to the Arabic language. They are expected to know the Arabic Alphabet, and have limited reading, writing and speaking skills.

By the end of this level, learners will enhance and expand different aspects of the language: grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary and culture while using both standard Arabic and the Lebanese dialect.

They will be able to participate in conversations on a number of familiar topics using simple sentences and to understand the main idea of short and simple presentations and texts when the topic is familiar. They will handle short social interactions in everyday situations by asking and answering simple questions. Learners will be able to write briefly about most familiar topics and present information using a series of simple sentences.

Book used for this class, to be purchased by our learners: Al-Kitaab fii Ta'allum al-'Arabiyya: Part One (3rd Edition)
