Online Adult Arabic School

Registration for the Online Adult Arabic School is now open for the Spring Semester 2025! Classes (Novice 1 & 2) will resume on Saturdays, starting Saturday January 4th 2025.

For returning students, please you can go ahead and register right away! For our New students, please contact Nada Nahas Taylor first before registering to ensure that we have spot for you (school@tlacnc.org or 919- 491-0103) . Spots are limited! 

Learn Arabic

Our school’s goal is to help learners acquire the Arabic language within a creative and fun environment conducive to learning. Our quality programs provide learners with the needed skills to communicate freely using the Lebanese dialect, strengthen their basic reading and writing skills and connect to their Lebanese culture to become active participants within their Lebanese community.

Instructor

The TLAC is very fortunate to be collaborating with Ms. Ala’a Malla in offering online classes for our adult learners!

Ms. Malla is an Arabic instructor who has taught at the Center for Arab and Middle Eastern Studies (CAMES) at the American University of Beirut. CAMES is a leading center for the interdisciplinary study of the Middle East, the Islamic World and the Arabic language, attracting a diverse group of students and scholars from around the world.

Instructor

Novice 1

(2 semesters)

Learners at this level will be exposed to both the standard Arabic and Lebanese dialect, with no or little previous knowledge of the language.

By the end of this level, learners will be able to communicate and write about familiar and everyday topics using a variety of practiced or memorized words, phrases, simple sentences and questions. They will also be able to listen and read highly predictable texts in which the topic or context is very familiar. During our Arabic lessons, learners will be introduced to Lebanese culture to become active participants within its community. 

Book used for this class, to be purchased separately by our learners: Alif Baa: Introduction to Arabic Letters and Sounds (3rd Edition)

Novice 1
